- Revision history:
-
- - 26th November 1996 -
- First release of Floods (v1.0)
-
- Notes: Remember this date friends... it's the beginning of a new way
- to flood!
-
-
- - 14th December 1996 -
- Second release of Floods (v1.1)
- -> Used a different method of displaying the log which is a lot faster
- and more reliable. Code thanks to Zarquon.
- -> Added the Floods Advisor which will give you some advice on what
- type of floods to use, after asking some questions.
- -> Ported Floods to VB4.0.
- -> Change the looks of part of Floods, such as fonts, etc.
- -> Now you can resize the main menu.
- -> Found a way to optimise the flooding even more.
- -> Added a half second delay after sending messages and if sending of
- messages fails, there is a 10 time retry. This is to prevent data
- loss due to lagged connections.
- -> In v1.0, all 3 Hurrican floods are reported as "(Light)", even
- though they are different. Fixed.
- -> The Hurrican floods are improved.
- -> Added Floodnet / Botnet support.
-
- Notes: Floods is better than ever with its new Floodnet / Botnet
- ability! Remember, if you want to be a registered use, send
- me a reason why you like Floods and an enhancement / bugfix you
- would like to see in Floods. To be a supporter, you need to
- send 2 reasons and 2 enhancements / bugfixes. Refer to Contact
- Information for more information.
-
-
- - 30th December 1996 -
- Maintainance release of Floods (v1.1.1)
- -> Added the date to release v1.1 in this file.
- -> Added error checking to prevent someone from connecting to himself.
- -> Previously, if a compound flood (A flood with more than one
- command, such as a CTCP KILL) is requested, it takes a long time
- before flooding actually occurs. This is now fixed.
- -> Changed the way compound floods are carried out. Previously
- compound flooding is carried out as below (For a 3 command flood
- with 3 bots):
-
- Bot one performs command one.
- Bot one performs command two.
- Bot one performs command three.
- Bot two performs command one.
- Bot two performs command two.
- Bot two performs command three.
- Bot three performs command one.
- Bot three performs command two.
- Bot three performs command three.
-
- Now, compound flooding is carried out as below:
-
- Bot one performs command one.
- (.1 second pause)
- Bot two performs command one.
- Bot one performs command two.
- (.1 second pause)
- Bot three performs command one.
- Bot two performs command two.
- Bot one performs command three.
- (.1 second pause)
- Bot three performs command two.
- Bot two performs command three.
- (.1 second pause)
- Bot three performs command three.
-
- This way, the chances of the bots getting killed is less.
- -> If you looked closely, sometimes the font in the log will change.
- Since the default font is a DOS font, (E.G: the character "W" has
- the same width as the character "I"), the changing of fonts may
- result in the log looking silly, especially if someone is sending
- you an ASCII art (IF he manages to bypass the flood protection that
- is). This is now fixed.
- -> Fixed some bugs.
-
- Notes: Go to my page and check out my newest program, Avalanche!
-
-
- - 23rd January 1997 -
- Third release of Floods (v2.0)
- -> Added a new flood, Random, which will select a random flood from
- the list of floods.
- -> Changed some of the code, although the result is the same (a bit
- faster and uses less memory though).
- -> Fixed some bugs with the log.
- -> Revised floods.doc
- -> This may be the LAST version of Floods as I cannot seem to find
- anything to add to it.
